FUNFAIR AT FLOWER SHOW

Kids can ride the Ferris wheel, giggle on the mini swing rides and jump on a tractor for a hayride on the farm at this year's Cape Town Flower & Garden Show, taking place from Thursday October 25 to Sunday October 28 at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West, Cape Town.

Children of all ages can have a ball at the flower show funfair riding on the carousel, watching the show from the big wheel and flying through the air on various swing rides. And there are loads of delicious snacks to nibble on too - tasty Nando chicken burgers, fruity smoothies, fresh sandwiches, pancakes and a scoop of soft-serve ice cream to cool little ones down.

The Cape Town Flower & Garden Show is an extravaganza of flowers, food and fun. South African and exotic plants are showcased in mini gardens created by landscapers to inspire and educate visitors, and families enjoy a day in the country, shopping at the botanical marketplace and enjoying fresh food and delicious wine.

There will be lots of open space for picnicking so bring your own picnic basket or order a delicious picnic box from The Picnic Company, who will deliver your hamper to the show. Children will love the Kids Bug Chaser picnic which includes a fruit juice; sunflower seed candy; cheese spread and biscuit dipper; gherkin, tomato and cheese; chicken and mayo roll; fresh seasonal farm fruit; handmade crisps; cookie pack; chocolate brownie cake; jelly tub; and a bottle of bubbles to blow. The show opens at 9am and closes at 6pm with an entrance fee of R50 for adults, while children under 12 enter free. Senior citizens will pay R35.
