PINK GERANIUM WINS TOP FLOWER AWARD

OCTOBER 2007

The Pink Geranium's show garden "Embrace" has been awarded the Aliverti Floating Trophy for the most outstanding contribution to the Cape Town Flower and Garden Show 2007 at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West.

The award is given to the best exhibit in the show garden category at the event which attracts over 25 000 each year. This is the third time that Pink Geranium has won the award. They first received it in 2004 and in 2006.

Announcing the results today the judges said they had awarded the top prize to Pink Geranium Nursery, because of the garden's design innovation and the unique experience that it offered to visitors.

"One can walk into the garden and withdraw into a quiet space" said judge and landscape architect Anthony Wain.

"The music, the welcome from the exhibitor and the peaceful ambience add a unique dimension to the garden. The garden is solidly built and the finishes and quality of the planting material are excellent."
