Lourensford Wine Estate, SOMERSET WEST

Lourensford Wine Estate, Somerset West, established in 1700, is one of the most beautiful wine estates in the world. Steeped in history and heritage, the estate boasts an ultra-modern winery that produces world-class wines. Its rich soils also produce apples, pears and plums in abundance.

Set at the foot of magnificent pine covered mountain slopes the estate spans an area of approximately 4000 hectares. Its cheesery produces a modest output of some of the finest cheeses in the Cape, and fresh coffee is hand-roasted on site daily to provide imported blends for some of the best local restaurants. Take a stroll around the grounds and admire the artworks in the gallery, or sit down at the restaurant for a delectable light lunch, while sipping on the award-winning and palate-delighting wines.

Polo, the sport of kings, and other equestrian events regularly feature on the estate grounds and a sizeable equestrian centre with stables provides housing for the horses. Other annual sports and cultural events are hosted by the estate and their extensive function facilities make this a popular and much-frequented venue.

DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE

From Cape Town to Somerset West (approx. 45km)

• From Cape Town International Airport take the N2 to Somerset West.
• Take exit No.43 to Somerset West/ Stellenbosch.
• At the robots at the Lord Charles Hotel turn right into Somerset West main road.
• Continue straight through three sets of traffic lights.
• At the fourth set of traffic lights take left turn into Lourensford Road (Land and Zeezicht).
• Follow Lourensford road for approximately 4km past Erinvale Golf Estate and Hotel on your left hand side.
• Just past the Erinvale Golf Estate turn left and follow the road to our main gate.
